Anubias: A Low-Maintenance Epiphyte for Closed Terrariums
Anubias is a hardy epiphytic plant commonly found in aquariumsbut it also thrives in closed terrariums with high humidity. With its deep green foliage and slow, steady growth, it's a reliable choice for adding form and contrast to terrarium builds without constant pruning.
Terrarium-Ready with No Soil Needed
Anubias doesnt need to be planted in soil. In fact, its rhizome must stay exposedso attach it to wood, rock, sphagnum moss, leca etc. It can be attached using thread, or by simply wedgeing it into a crevice. As it grows, the roots will naturally grip the surface, and any supports can be removed over time.
Choose from Three Distinct Forms
- Type 1 C Compact & Bushy: A dense, rounded form with smaller leaves. Ideal for foreground placement or smaller terrariums.
- Type 2 C Broad Leaf: Bold, paddle-shaped leaves create visual weight and contrast. Best suited for midground areas.
- Type 3 C Tall & Upright: Long, narrow leaves grow vertically, adding height and architectural lines to your setup.
Perfect for Low Light & High Humidity
Anubias tolerates low light and fluctuating airflow better than many tropical species. Its a slow grower that holds its form well, making it a great option for beginners and experienced terrarium keepers alike.
