About Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony'

The Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony' is a delightful little succulent that boasts sharp-tipped, fleshy rosettes of leaves that resemble a hedgehoggives a more handsome and stiff vibe. Its grey-green leaves take on a striking appearance with bright red tips that deepen to a deep black with exposure to sunlight. What's more, this gorgeous plant produces charming pink flowers from late winter to spring.?

How to care for Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony'

Sun/Temperature: The stunning Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony' is a versatile succulent that can thrive indoors in bright, diffused light, thanks to its shade-tolerant nature. However, if you want to see its colors come to life, consider giving it some full sun exposure. Just be mindful of strong summer sun rays that can result in leaf sunburn. To keep this precious plant happy, ensure that its environment is well-ventilated and not humid or dark. Maintaining temperatures between 60-80F will allow Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony' to flourish, but if the temperature drops below 40F, it will go into dormant mode and can be moved indoors if it falls below 30F.

Soil: For a thriving Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony', it's essential to provide the right kind of soil. This particular succulent thrives in sandy soil that's slightly acidic, and not too coarse. To achieve the perfect soil mix, we recommend blending peat soil with fine river sand and perlite.?

Watering: For optimal growth, it's important to note that this plant thrives in weakly acidic water. During the seedling stage, it's essential to ensure that the plant doesn't lack water as the root system is still developing, and the leaves aren't capable of storing nutrients efficiently. Adequate water supply helps the plant root and grow faster. When it comes to older stumps, the root system is relatively developed, and the leaves can store nutrients better. Hence, a different watering approach is required. If you continue using the same watering method as the seedling, the roots are likely to rot. In such cases, reducing the amount and frequency of watering is crucial. Additionally, during the spring and fall succulent growing period, watering should be relatively more, whereas during summer and winter dormant period, it should be less. You can use the soak and dry watering method for watering.

Pot: You can choose pots with drainage holes, which are more suitable for succulents.

Propagation: Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony' can be propagated from leaves. Select entire leaves and cut them off entirely with a sterilized tool, then dry the wounds. After the wounds have healed, please place them in dry soil and water them as soon as they have taken root.

Fertilization: Echeveria Agavoides 'Ebony' can be fertilized in spring and autumn with a special succulent fertilizer containing phosphorus and potassium.
