    About Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis

Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis is a natural variety of Haworthia coarctata native to South Africa. This plant's leaves are narrow and extended, triangular in shape, and the green surface is densely covered with tiny white spots. The fleshy leaves are arranged in a cascading rosette upwards, resembling the scales of a dragon. It is very colorful, and as it gets more sunlight, its leaves will gradually deepen from bright green to red, and from red to brown.

How to care for Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis

Sun/Temperature: Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis plant has a robust habit, making it suitable for novice growers. It can grow well in low sunlight and can be grown both indoors and outdoors. However, it should be shaded during summer to prevent sunburn on the leaves. It can thrive in temperatures between 50F and 75F. During winters, it must be moved indoors if temperatures drop below 30F.

Soil/Watering: Grow Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis in a 1:1 ratio of well-aerated granular soil and coir. Ensure the soil is well-draining to prevent waterlogging. Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, but allow it to dry between waterings to avoid root rot.

Pot: Choose pots with drainage holes to ensure the roots receive adequate aeration and promote healthy root growth.

Propagation: Propagation can be done by sowing seeds or dividing the plant. When Haworthia coarctata var. adelaidensis develops lateral shoots, cut them with sterilized scissors and allow the cuts to callous over before planting them in dry soil. Keep the soil lightly moist until roots are established.
